When Athearn originally manufactured a series of autoloader kits in the late 1990’s, they released each kit with the autoloader painted for a particular railroad and a TTX 50’ flat car with the same road number. By mixing/ matching the flat cars in different kits, I was able to make kits with the same road name on the autoloader but with different TTX road numbers on the side sills of the flat car. Since the autoloaders may look out of place on some layouts, it can be replaced with a twin trailer rack I have included. These trailer racks can be used with Athearn’s 25’ trailers.
The picture shows the car in both the Autoloader configuration and with only the dual trailer mount. Although the picture shows two cars, the auction is only for one car.
This particular auction is for a green Burlington Northern autoloader (kit #1487) and a TTX 50’ flat car with the road number 140192. It is an out of production kit so it is not easily found. It is in excellent condition (no broken corner steps or stake pockets) and has had the steel underframe weight painted flat black.

Check out my other auctions for more out-of-production or hard-to-find kits, especially Athearn “blue-box” kits. Athearn has discontinued manufacturing them, so they will become extremely scarce and hard to find in the years to come. |
